The Universal Principle of Healing
Experiencing the Inner Knowledge of Fluids
Through Movement and Touch
Taught by Robin Becker and Friedrich Wolf
Continuing Education Course
For Cranial Sacral Practitioners
This class is designed to combine the essence of Continuum Movement, a field of somatic education that focuses on the body as a fluid system, with the biodynamic approach to Cranial Sacral Therapy. Deeply compatible, both fields work with the innate forces of the living being, forces we can touch and see in the fluid system of the human body. These two forms of therapy and education support an in-depth understanding and direct experience of the human body as an unfolding fluid process capable of its own healing process.
Robin Becker, an Authorized Teacher of Continuum Movement work and Friedrich Wolf, the director of the ISBC Kiental, an international school for Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapy, are coming together to create a new program that blends the wisdom of their related fields. Robin’s experience with movement and the use of sound and breath to initiate primary fluid movement in the body along with Friedrich’s knowledge and experience of touch and how to listen to the autonomous language of the human system will be an opportunity to expand the experience and understanding of the body as a fluid system, and to communicate with what is called within the cranial field “the breath of life”.
In this course, a synthesis of the listening skills and therapeutic touch learned in the study of Cranial Sacral Therapy and the basic skills and concepts of Continuum Movement will be offered. Both systems have developed a broad range of ways in which to perceive and directly experience the touch and feeling of the fluid intelligence that lives within every cell of the body. Sound and listening touch will be an integral aspect of the explorations offered. We will learn about embryological development and recapitulate through movement some of the creative shaping principles of moving water. As fluid movement is amplified, the flow of information and communication within the body increases and the mystery of the healing capacities of fluid dynamics is allowed to take place.
The benefit of engaging in Continuum Movement for body workers is usually one of profound restoration and renewal. Many body workers express the delight of finding a way through Continuum to offer self-care and a type of bodywork to themselves. Continuum offers a process of becoming more aware of and receptive to the conditions, messages, and communications within one’s own body. As one’s perceptual field expands, an increased awareness of nuance and sensation develops that allows for more permeability, presence, and receptivity in working and communicating with others. We become engaged with the underlying unity and unfolding mystery of life that informs us, guides us, and moves as us.

Awakening to the Movement of Life
A Continuum Movement Workshop
taught by Robin Becker
“Movement is something we are, not something we do.”
Emilie Conrad, founder of Continuum Movement
All life, including the human body, has been shaped by the movement of water. Continuum Movement is an exploration of the properties and movement of water as it shapes and forms life both within the body and the larger world. At its essence, Continuum is a study of the body as a fluid system constantly shaping itself anew.
In Continuum, the body is understood as a boundless process of fluid movement rather than form; as a coalescence of energy connected to all other living processes through resonance. Resonance, or immediate communication, is a fundamental characteristic of the relationship between all fluid systems. Through engaging in the primary arcing, spiraling and undulating movements of our biology, we become conscious of our dynamic engagement and intimate participation with all of life. Ancient realms of possibility, innovation, and creation are accessed in the practice of Continuum. The body is experienced as a fluid planetary process through which the underlying unity and unfolding mystery of life can inform and guide us. As human bodies, we can become more aware and responsive to the endless possibilities of life emerging, expanding and manifesting as ourselves.
The workshop begins with an evening introduction to Continuum that is required if one is new to Continuum and optional if one has had experience with Continuum. The workshop will culminate in an ‘all-nighter,’ a time of silence, during which we move and rest in the depths of listening and the shared resonance of the group.
This movement practice is appropriate and safe for everyone at ALL mobility levels. No previous movement or dance experience is required.

Retreat In The Body:
Called to Embody Love
A Continuum Movement Workshop
Taught by Robin Becker
Author Peter Kingsley has written that we are called to embody love in the world. The body is a pulsing, fragile, powerful expression of a planetary process, and the capacity of the body to communicate and receive the experience of life is a profound capacity we have all been given.
In this workshop, we will investigate how our physical bodies are the embodiment and expression of love deeply linked to an ancient process. Using breath and sound practices to initiate movement, we will explore the body as a boundless process of unfolding fluid expression rather than form. Dancing within our form is the mysterious mix of the tangible and the intangible, and through movement we experience our essential participation in the life of the planet and the endless possibilities of love emerging, expanding and unfolding as ourselves.
This workshop takes place at the European summer camp of the Sufi Order of the West in a beautiful setting high in the Italian Alps. During the week, we will also spend time moving in Nature exploring our profound connection to the infinite forms of love that embrace, inform and nourish us.
