Christie's passionate interest is in how we discover
ourselves to be the embodied presence that we are.

She has been profoundly drawn by Continuum's call to explore the mystery of "the body", particularly as gateway into direct experience of creative flow. Her lifelong inquiry is how awareness cultivated through fluid movement, stillness, sound, silence and intuition supports conscious embodiment in daily life.

Christie has taught all of her adult life. Her gift in teaching Continuum is in helping her students connect with the pleasure and freshness of their own sensuality. She inspires curiosity in exploring their world through sensation. She conveys trust and excitement in the process of creative discovery, both in expression and also in gently opening places of habit, restriction, and injury.

Christie continues to be deeply sourced from her 30 year meditation practice, based in Buddhism. She has a long standing involvement with the psychological and mythic undercurrents of living. She has a deep interest in assisting others exploring at those levels.   Her 14 year journey with chronic fatigue syndrome has been a profound teacher, as has years of work studying relationship of all kinds.

Christie's background is eclectic. She has a BA in English and is a Licentiate Minister with UCM. In the 70's, she did extensive work assisting women entering the construction trades for 12 years. She has taught residential Buddhist vipassana meditation retreats, intuition development and then toning improvisation for 20 years.   She has also done much work with nature and with the Enneagram.

Christie discovered her big voice through toning in the late 80's. She started the Sound Healers of Washington organization in the early 90's, which continues to the present. She has produced numerous community ritual/performances as well as two audio tapes of toning.

She has worked with individuals, using intuitive readings and counseling for 30 years. Her movement background includes studies in aikido, yoga and improvisational play, as well as intensive training in Continuum with Emilie Conrad and Susan Harper in the last 10 years.

In the past few years in addition to teaching Continuum, Christie has been sitting zen-satsang with Adjashanti, has   completed an 8 month intensive in non-dual therapy with Peter Fenner. and has been doing Gestalt Awareness practice with Christine Price.
