wellness and fitness for 35+ years. She has been

meditation, movement meditation, tai chi, Tibetan Qi
Gong, Alexander Technique, tantra, sacred healing arts
and dance, chanting, energy work and sound healing
(including Tibetan and Mongolian overtones and
harmonics). Her traditional education includes a B.A.
from Simmons College in Boston and two years of
graduate work in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling
at the State University of New York at Albany. Satya teaches "The Cosmic Connection" Mondays at
the Santa Monica Continuum studio. She also teaches
classes/workshops in Santa Barbara at SB City College
Continuing Ed and privately. She sees clients in Aspen
CO (Nov.-Apr.). She will be starting classes,
workshops and private sessions in So.Orange County and
the Encinitas and San Diego area beginning Spring '07.
Satya is passionate about women's health and
wellness. She has developed and continues to create
classes and workshops devoted to understanding how
chronic and acute stress(internal and external)and the
habitual over reactive patterns of response (startle,
fight and flight)created in childhood are temporary
defensive survival mechanisms. These fixed adaptive
patterns along with the psychology of accomodation to
others and a lack of self-nurturance undermines and
compromises physical, emotional, mental and spiritual
health- often resulting in autonomic and
neuro-muscular dysfunction and manifesting as chronic
fatigue, obsessive-compulsive disorders, IBS and other
digestive disorders, fibromyalgia, PMS, unresolved
repressed anger, lupus, perfectionism, compromised
immune system disorders, adrenal and hormonal
imbalance and depletion, early and difficult
menopause, migraines, cancer of the female organs and
colon, MS, arthritis, unnecessary injury, addictions
and many other conditions associated with aging that
are debilitating to women and often devastating to
them and their families.
Medical and other health professionals only help
women to "manage their symptoms" and have not begun to
address the underlying causes and source of these
symptoms/illnesses. This kind of "management" is
ineffective, temporary and destructive as
itexacerbates the inherent cycles of hope,
frustration, discouragement, anger-finally leading to
a more serious condition of hopelessness and despair.
Satya demonstrates and teaches experiential and
practical self-healing, self-sensing, self-resourcing,
self-regulating and self-realization techniques
inspired by and informed by Emilie Conrad's Continuum
Movement,the world renowned movement and
self-discovery method. These self-healing techniques
interrupt the chronic and habitual over reactive
response patterns from the past and allow for deep
healing and integration to emerge.
Satya facilitates this process to help prevent and
resolve the underlying causes of dis-ease at the
source. Each woman is guided and supported in
accessing her own innate fluid bio-intelligence and
her ability to be co-creative her own healing process.
Learning and experiencing being fully present-
perceiving, sensing and responding to each moment in a
new, creative and novel way- she will discover her
birth right-and the fountain of health and
rejuvenation within. This is true freedom which offers
limitless choices and infinite potential for hope,
health, happiness.
Satya is an avid skier and is experienced with
sports performance and injury as well as conditions
associated with aging. Satya currently works with yoga
practitioners, skiers and snowboarders and golfers
helping them to access their "wetbody" to facilitate
flexibility and minimize overuse injury, arthritis,
stiffness and pain by dissolving habitual linear and
repetitive patterns. Potentiating rotational muscles
and connective tissues, offers new and novel
possibilities of responsive movement that puts the
"juice back" into their practices and sports and
enhances performance and pleasure.
